ILANIA ABILEAH
Bachelor's degree, Studio Arts from Concordia
University (2001). Ilania paints collage-like, frequently narrative paintings, sets of miniatures, and makes mono-prints drawn
from her heritage and her experience as a women artist. Ilania has lived in Quebec since 1968, and has been painting on a
regular basis since 1989 and full-time since 1995. Lives and paints in Morin Heights since 1993.
In 1996 she exhibited her work at Gallery "910"
in Morin Heights, and organized a program, offering "Guest Artist" classes with the aim to promote the art of painting in
Morin Heights.
Participated in solo and group exhibitions in Montreal, the Laurentians,
as well as the annual Route des Arts (Greater Argenteuil Region Laurentians) Open Studio Art Tour
since 2000. Member of the Board of Directors of Route des Arts (Vice President).
Member of "Arts Morin Heights" since 1996 (past
President).
In 2002, Ilania started contributing articles about the local art scene to local English newspapers, and other
publications. She now has a monthly column in the Laurentian Sun.
